Don’t Lose Friendships During A Move

Posted on September 10, 2017 by Henry

Moving home is becoming a more frequent event for people these days. Moving location for work, needing more space, affordability, children’s needs and care the elderly etc. There are many reasons. We know it’s the right thing logically to do, the consideration of friendships may not be a big factor in our decision. After all, you can just make more friends. However, how many people that you know are your actual friends? We all have different values of when someone becomes your friends as opposed to an acquaintance or college. Firm friends are present for your emotionally and physically. Building close friends takes time and effort and is a 2- way street. Holding friendships through the many changing events is very rewarding as it broadens your life experience, knowledge and emotional intelligence. When there is physical distance between friends the connection can be lost or change into something less meaningful. Here are some tips on how to maintain that connection and build on it when you move, and are not part of your friends regular life.

Social Media

For sure if you have these methods and your friend does, work it. Post more, comment more, like more. Let them know you see their life and you are a part of it. It’s not as personal and making a phone call, but can often spur a phone call, text, email and offer to visit. These things are more considdred and matter more.

Being Part Of The Move

Many friends make easier work packing up a house. Less emotional attachment to the possessions makes speedier boxing. Although they may not be there at the other end to unpack having a house warming gathering when your ready is another way to say thank you for their efforts.

Give Your Stuff To Your Friends

Instead of giving to charity or the recycling centre, offer your stuff to your friends. If it will not go into your new place then perhaps someone will want it. They will think of you when they see that piece of furniture/book/curtain rail Etc. It works the other way as well. They may have items they do not want but will work well in your new home.

Make Space For Friends To Visit

If your far away. Asking a friend to come a visit can be difficult as cost for travel, accommodation can be prohibitley expensive. See about making space in your home for a guest. If you don’t have bedrooms, get creative with camping in the garden (for the kids?) or the lounge becoming a den. Journey half way for a long lunch. Once these obstacles can be overcome once, then it will be easier to meet more often.

Conclusion

Just as a home move gets rid of stuff you don’t want, or need. Moving can show you what friendships you want to maintain and who is willing to maintain these connections with you. Those that remain are precious.

As the time draws near you may want to spent more time with those friends that are important to you. Let us take care of your house move for you. Our service is designed from the outset to be cost-effective, we will match other quotes if necessary, easy, flexible and friendly.  Give us a call on 01963 616161 or just get a quote.

House Moves Made Easy

Posted on July 10, 2017 by Henry

It is often thought a Storage Company wouldn’t help with House Moves, how wrong can one be.  The traditional view of a Storage facility is that you rock up and along with your cardboard boxes and van load of furniture and sort of move everything into a local farmers barn, promising him that some time after your house move you’ll return to collect it.

But this is not the way we work, here at inStore we simply aim to make the whole Removals and House Moving experience as lovely and easy as possible.  We’re your left leg and right hand, here to help and here to advise.

So who normally does all this advising, the estate agent, your solicitor, when it comes to practical matters of the physical moving from one end of the country to another you need trust and rely on the good people that are actually wrapping and moving your personal possessions and that means a lot of trust, especially if your furniture means something to you as is so often the case.

We aim to make house moves easy, it’s as simple as that.

Our team consisting of Tony and George, father and son, will come to your property and professional assess your needs and inventory and duly and quickly offer you an on the spot Estimate, then when back in the office and processed you will get a proper Quotation confirming the estimate and detailing exactly your requirements.

George and Jack plus others from our team of professional movers will then return and pack up your property before loading into as many vans as needed, and then once done will drive to your pre-chosen destination, usually via and ice cream shop after all their hard work.

You may chose to store your possessions in our secure depot either in Wincanton, Yeovil or Mere, where everything is kept dry and safe, or we can transport everything to the new House or home.

It couldn’t be simpler if we tried to peel a banana. From the initial seeing your property to the final good byes when you are safely installed we want more than anything else your trust and we will do everything we can to earn it.

Why not start by asking for a House Moves viewing.

1st Time Buyers – We live in the Countryside

Posted on May 2, 2017 by Henry

1st time buyers take heed – we live in the countryside and we love it… Beautiful sunny days at the moment, spring is in the air and we’re posting this post late because we’ve just had the bank holiday weekend, life is good at the moment.

So how can we help – we are but a meagre storage company with a warehouse full of storage units, just waiting for you 1st time buyers to move out of London and set up home here in Mere, Gillingham, Shaftesbury or Frome, we don’t really mind, the country side is rolling, everyone is a little bit odd, but very friendly down in the Pub, the local postie knows us all by sight and we’re always happy to meet new people.

We’ve got George – that’s how we can help you… he’s in his early twenties, so he tells us, strong as an ox and friendly as can be, he’ll whizz up to London for almost any excuse and he’d be delighted to handle your House move, packing furniture and personal possessions carefully and without damage, bring it all down here and help you put it all into your home.  We’re not Pickfords I will grant that, but then nor are our prices and there is no harm in a quote to see how we stack up to the big boys.

1st Time Buyers Advice and Top Tips from inStoreOnce you’ve made it to the countryside – it won’t end there, if you have too much furniture we can store it for you.  I know the likes of Big Yellow in London have lots of self storage units, but we’re £10 per week per container and while it’s not 100% self storage we are always here to help you access your possessions with a friendly wave and relaxed approach.

Don’t worry we are secure, connected to the local Police and Fire Stations, with 24/7 cctv (it gets everywhere), but again it’s worth a quote just to see how we stack up to the bigger boys, also we’re local, if you are buying your 1st house in the Shaftesbury, Gillingham and Frowm triangle we could be more central.  We have clients from as far afield as Bath, Bristol and Taunton, nut really we like to focus on the best possible service locally.

So – we’re like self storage units – but we’re not – we’re more than that.  We’re not a barn in a field – we have a huge warehouse, as it was an old chimney factory, we’re open weekends and can arrange someone to be available any time you like.  We also collect and deliver.

For 1st time buyers we’re an ideal choice, local, friendly, economic and ready to hear from you.
